SAHS mascot forums scheduled for this month. Sign up to attend

Posted on: February 7, 2018

A review of the South Albany High School Rebels mascot is underway, and a possible change to a more inclusive symbol will be discussed.

Principal Brent Belveal has announced a process that will start later this month to collect input. He sent this email to the South Albany High community announcing the plan:

The school district has hired a consultant to collect input from the community about the mascot at South Albany and we wanted to let you know how you might get involved if you are interested.

Tuesday, February 20

Wednesday, February 21

Tuesday, February 27

6:30 – 8:00 p.m., SAHS Commons Building

These three opportunities are limited to the first 75 people to sign up for each session online using the link:  ttps://goo.gl/forms/gIyoIon2rEusmoyq1

You will need to be signed up as one of the 75 for one of these nights to be admitted.  This will assure that all voices have a chance to be heard during each session.  The information will be collected and provided as data for the district to consider in this discussion.

A quorum of School Board Members may be present.
