Greater Albany Public Schools is the 15th largest district in Oregon, with more than 9,300 students in kindergarten through high school. The district offers strong programs of character education, self discipline, and peer mentoring for children at all grade levels, and our students outscore the national average and show consistent improvement on both the verbal and math portions of the SAT.
Albany graduates have earned more than $3.4 million in scholarships and other academic awards, and attend the best universities in the world, including Harvard, the Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, Florida State, and major public and private universities in Oregon.
Serving these talented students are 565 licensed educators and 715 classified staff. More than 85 percent of the district’s educators have five or more years of experience, and more than 70 percent of middle school and high school educators have masters degrees. In surveys, more that 85 percent of students and parents agree the district’s teachers work hard to help kids learn.
The District has 21 schools: fourteen elementary schools, one 3-8 school, three middle schools, and three high schools, and covers approximately 154 square miles in Linn and Benton counties.
