The Albany Police Department recognized 11 middle school students from across GAPS for improved learning and behavior with a ceremony at the station. After presentation of certificates and introductions, students were rewarded with pizza and bowling at Lakeshore Lanes. The students, who were picked up by a limousine at each of their respective schools, were selected by teachers and/or counselors for their efforts. The program, known as BULB (Bringing Up Learning and Behavior) has been in operation for the past several years and has recognized 210 students over that period. Students are selected at three different times during the year. School Resource Officers Ken Fandrum and Kevin Mitchell presented the certificates and read comments from school staff about each student.
El APD reconoce a estudiantes por mejoras
El Departamento de Policía de Albany (APD, por sus siglas en inglés) reconoció a 11 estudiantes de secundaria de todo el Distrito Escolar de Albany (GAPS, por sus siglas en inglés) por mejorar su aprendizaje y comportamiento, con una ceremonia en la estación de policías. Después de la presentación de certificados y presentaciones, los estudiantes fueron recompensados con pizza y boliche en Lakeshore Lanes. Los estudiantes, quienes fueron recogidos por una limusina en cada una de sus respectivas escuelas, fueron seleccionados por los maestros y/o consejeros por sus esfuerzos. El programa, conocido como BULB (por sus siglas en inglés: Bringing Up Learning and Behavior [mejorar el aprendizaje y comportamiento]) ha estado en función durante los últimos años y ha reconocido a 210 estudiantes durante ese período. Los estudiantes son seleccionados en tres ocasiones diferentes durante el año. Los oficiales de recursos escolares, Ken Fandrum y Kevin Mitchell, presentaron los certificados y leyeron comentarios del personal escolar sobre cada estudiante.
