Student All-Stars: South Shore Elementary School

At the first annual GAPS Student All-Stars Celebration, the School Board honored outstanding students from each school. Students were nominated by school staff and introduced by the school principal.

South Shore Elementary School All-Stars are: 

Destiny Kites

Destiny has been a wonderful friend to so many classmates this year. She has taken on challenges and helped students adjust to new situations. She has grown and blossomed into a confident, hard-working student. We are all so proud of her social/emotional and academic growth!  She is a student who works harder to get smarter everyday!

Yahir Tenorio

Yahir is a model student in both Spanish and English. He is a role model for other students and has helped welcome new students to our school. He often interprets from English to Spanish for students in class who are learning Spanish. Yahir is a perfect example of a bilingual student who will do great things in middle school.

Student All-Stars: Sunrise Elementary School

Sunrise Elementary School All-Stars are: 

Eliseo Ortiz-Cortez

Eliseo Ortiz-Cortez is an exemplary student in character and perseverance. He is always  joyful, and never gives up on his schoolwork.

Cassie Bartlett

Cassie Bartlett is an outstanding student in effort and in character. She is an excellent friend to her classmates and perseveres to solve any challenge she comes across.

Art of Expression showcases student creativity at NAMS

The annual NAMS Art of Expression event allows students to share their art, poetry, photography and cartoons in an exhibit that is open to the public.

The event will also feature a talk by Beaverton author Lisa Schroeder.

Student All-Stars: West Albany High School

At the first annual GAPS Student All-Stars Celebration, the School Board honored outstanding students from each school. Students were nominated by school staff and introduced by the school principal.

West Albany High School All-Stars are: 

Conner Rice and Hayden Huzefka

Principal Susie Orsborn spoke about these students as an indispensable team at West Albany High School — and other school and community groups. Both have expert event technology skills and tirelessly volunteer to help with any request.

They were also recognized for the following work and achievements:

  • Graduation sound and set up
  • After-school dances
  • Pep assemblies
  • Event technology
  • Musicals
  • Oregon Music Educators Association band festivals / choir concerts
  • Leadership
  • Student Body President: Connor
  • Anytime we need anything: microphone, class meetings etc.

Calapooia Middle School All-Stars are: 

Katelyn Haury

Katelyn leads by example. She is a kind, helpful, hardworking student. Katelyn approaches every challenge with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, leaving Calapooia Middle School a better place.

Vadim Hubenya (not present)

Vadim Is a positive role model among his peers. He is hardworking, dedicated and capable student who gives 100% effort to every task. Vadim’s positive attitude, amazing work ethic and kind heart impact Calapooia Middle School every day.
